Inspired by an antique botany book Guide des Champignon found along her travels in Paris, ANNA QUAN presents Resort'18: 'Champignon'. As with every collection, Quan is attracted to the simple and perhaps unexceptional elements of her everyday surroundings. It was through these interactions with the commonplace that her fascination with mushrooms began. The textural variations and exaggerated shapes of mushrooms is subtly translated within the garments and can be seen to be appropriated throughout the collection.
Resort 18' continues to develop the ANNA QUAN investment in creating a wardrobe for the modern woman while adding an element of poetry and lightness not customary to the brand. Soft mushroom pleating overlaid with contrast thread in vibrant red and yellow brings a playfulness to the range. Structured double collars and gold hardware alongside topstitching and strong lapels juxtapose the aforementioned playfulness and work to retain the structure and minimalism for which the brand has become renowned. Also signature to the brand is classic shirting that has been updated with the use of exaggerated detachable cuffs and contrast buttons.
Cotton holiday stripes add flare to oversized shirting; cotton herringbone and silk crepe de chine are a collection staple. Luxurious basket weave summer-weight wool and cotton sateen add a key component to the ANNA QUAN vocabulary in the development of tailored trans-seasonal trench coats.
