Misfit Apparel comes from the counter culture movement of Sydney’s M/SF/T MAD MINDS, the special projects division and artist support program of the Misfit Shapes surfboard brand.
Largely inspired by 90s DIY music video culture and teen angst films, Misfit continues to live in a low-light, dark-pop fuzz.
The WHITE WATER BLACK ABYSS campaign is an explosion of colour and contrast that smacks with harsh gel-lighting, moody shadows, intimate crops and the muted pop tones of the collection itself. Dusty pinks, dirty whites, washed tans and khakis are contrasted with hard graphics by the Misfit Mad Minds.
The Misfit Winter 2017 Collection is jackets, fleece, shirting, knitwear and trousers, fabrics are lush heavy corduroy, slub terry toweling, linen, wool and wool blends, flight satin, and bouclé.
